Cookie Policy
The important things to know
We use cookies and similar technologies on Taler.uno to make the website work, keep it secure, remember your preferences, and – if you agree – understand how the community uses the site and improve it over time.
Essential cookies are necessary for the basic operation and security of the website. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may then not work properly.
Non-essential cookies (for example, analytics or, if used in future, marketing cookies) are set only with your consent, which you can give and withdraw at any time via our cookie settings.
Some cookies are set directly by us, others by third-party providers whose tools are integrated into the Service (for example, analytics or embedded services).
For more information about how we process personal data, your rights and how long we keep data, please see our Privacy Policy.
1
Who is responsible and what does this Policy cover?
1.1 This Cookie Policy explains how the non-profit association that operates Taler.uno (the Association or we) uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the Taler.uno website and related online spaces (together, the Service).
1.2 The Association's identity and contact details are set out in the Imprint / Legal Information on this website. References in this Policy to we, us or our mean that Association.
1.3 This Policy applies whenever you access or use the Service, whether you do so as a visitor or while logged in with a Community Account.
2
What are cookies and similar technologies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, and to provide information to site operators.
2.2 We may also use similar technologies, such as: local storage in your browser; web beacons or pixels; SDKs in mobile or desktop applications (if such applications are offered in future); device identifiers. These technologies can fulfil similar purposes as cookies, for example remembering settings or measuring usage.
2.3 In this Policy, we use the term cookies to refer to cookies and similar technologies, unless we need to distinguish between them.
3
What types of cookies do we use and for what purposes?
We group the cookies used in connection with the Service into categories based on their purpose. Not all categories may be used at all times.
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
3.1.1 These cookies are essential for the basic operation, security and accessibility of the Service. They enable core functions such as: loading and displaying pages correctly; logging in and managing your session; protecting forms and logins against misuse; remembering your cookie choices.
3.1.2 Without these cookies, the Service (or parts of it) may not work properly. For this reason, strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off via our cookie settings interface. You can still block them in your browser, but doing so may affect functionality.
3.2 Preferences (functional) cookies
3.2.1 These cookies allow the Service to remember settings and choices you make, for example: language or locale; interface preferences; options you selected in forms or tools.
3.2.2 They are not strictly necessary, but they help us provide a more convenient and personalised experience.
3.3 Analytics and performance cookies
3.3.1 These cookies help us understand how the Service is used and how it performs. For example, they may collect information about: which pages or sections are visited; how long users stay; which links or features are used; error messages or loading times.
3.3.2 We use this information to improve the usability, stability and performance of the Service and to understand how the community interacts with it.
3.3.3 Where required by applicable law, analytics cookies are used only with your consent, which we obtain via our cookie banner or settings.
3.4 Marketing and communication cookies
3.4.1 At present, Taler.uno is not designed as an advertising platform. If, in future, we use cookies or similar technologies to support outreach or communication (for example, to measure the impact of campaigns or to show more relevant information), we will explain this here.
3.4.2 Any such cookies would only be used where permitted by law and, where required, only with your consent.
4
Which cookies are used on Taler.uno?
4.1 The specific cookies used on the Service, their providers, purposes and lifetimes depend on the current technical setup and may change over time as we develop the platform.
4.2 The development / product team maintains an up-to-date list of cookies and similar technologies used on Taler.uno. This list is available through the cookie settings interface on the website and may also be reflected in the table below if we choose to publish it here.
A detailed list of cookies used on this website is available through the cookie settings interface accessible via the footer.
4.3 If we use a consent management platform (CMP) or another tool that automatically generates and displays a cookie list, that tool's interface may serve as the primary, always up-to-date reference. In that case, this Policy will refer you to that interface for the detailed list.
5
What is the legal basis for using cookies?
5.1 For strictly necessary cookies, the legal basis for processing personal data is our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in providing a secure, functional and user-friendly Service, and, where applicable, the necessity of processing for the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
5.2 For preferences, analytics and any future marketing cookies, the legal basis is, where required by law, your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which we obtain via our cookie banner or settings interface.
5.3 You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on the website. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
6
How can you manage your cookie settings?
6.1 When you first visit the Service (and periodically thereafter), you will see a cookie banner or consent interface that allows you to: accept all categories of cookies; reject non-essential cookies; or choose in more detail which cookie categories you want to allow.
6.2 You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings available on the website. You can access the cookie settings at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of the website.
6.3 In addition to our own settings, you can manage cookies via your browser or device: Most browsers allow you to view, delete and block cookies or to receive a warning before a cookie is stored. If you block all cookies, the Service (or some features) may not work properly.
6.4 For more information on managing cookies, you can consult the help pages of your browser or device.
7
Third-party cookies and technologies
7.1 Some cookies and similar technologies used in connection with the Service may be set by third parties, such as: analytics providers; providers of integrated services or widgets; communication or hosting services.
7.2 These third parties may process data about your use of the Service and, depending on their own tools and settings, may also track your activities across different websites or apps.
7.3 The use of data collected via third-party cookies is governed by the privacy policies of the relevant third parties. We encourage you to review those policies.
7.4 Where required by law, third-party cookies (other than those that are strictly necessary for the functioning of the Service) are used only with your consent.
8
How long are cookies stored?
8.1 Cookies can be: Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser or end your session; or Persistent cookies, which remain stored on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.
8.2 The storage duration (lifetime) of each cookie or similar technology is indicated in the cookie list maintained via the cookie settings interface and/or in the table referred to in Section 4.
8.3 Personal data collected through cookies is generally kept for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or in our Privacy Policy and is then deleted or anonymised, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
9
Relationship with the Privacy Policy
9.1 This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which provides more information on: how we process personal data in general; the purposes and legal bases for processing; your rights under data protection law; international data transfers and retention periods; our contact details and the competent supervisory authority.
9.2 If there is a conflict between this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy with regard to the processing of personal data via cookies, the Privacy Policy prevails.
10
Changes to this Cookie Policy
10.1 We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in: the cookies or similar technologies we use; applicable legal requirements; or our technical or organisational setup.
10.2 The latest version of this Policy will always be available on the Service and will indicate the date of last update.
10.3 Where changes are material or where required by law, we will endeavour to inform you in an appropriate manner (for example, via the Service, by updating the cookie banner or by notifying registered users).
11
